Dear John

Dear John was very interesting because it was written in a way in which it represented realistic views. It wasn't the predictable romantic kind of happy ending novel that I was expecting. Even though this novel did not contain the happy ending I was looking for, it still provided me with a ending in which made it painfully romantic. Nicholas Sparks is genius because he is unpredictable with romantic novels. The way he writes is very descriptive and knowledgeable. Even though I love happy endings I know that I will be reading many more of his books in the future. Nicholas Sparks was also the author of the notebook. I didn't read the book but from the movie you might realize his style of romantic novels that I am trying to get across. The ending was sad but also romantic and happy all at the same time. That is kind of like the ending of Dear John. Dear John was realistic romantic novel and I can't wait to read the book the last song to see what Nicholas Sparks comes up with next.

Envy by Anna Godberson

Envy has been the most intriguing book of the luxe series. Anna Godberson was smart because she wrote her novel in such a way that you can read the perspectives of all the main and most interesting characters. I am fond of this idea because there are many times in which I have picked up a novel but have not felt compelled to continue reading once I learn that I would much rather read from the perspective of another character. Writing a novel this way also provides the reader with all the information that the characters do not know. I believe that it makes a book more exciting. The reader will feel compelled to continue reading to see if the characters find out all the information for themselves. Envy provided many twists and turns that were not expected. This is important because there are many times that I find a novel predictable. It is not twist when you know what the outcome will be. Envy has been the most intense and suspenseful book of the series. Although each leaves you hanging with a huge turn in the series it leaves you to wonder what could happen in the next book. I can't wait to read Splendor the fourth and final novel of the series. I know that splendor will be able to top Envy in a way I am not sure of.

Envy is set back in a time when young ladies of the upper class wore ball gowns, expensive fur coats, road in carriages and had their own maids. They were looked up to as role models although not all of them were suited for that. I wish I could describe the book with one character but because the of the way the novel was written I cannot. I also do not want give away to much information. However, I will tell you all the characters and what they are like. Elizabeth Holland is one of the most proper and beautiful young ladies of socialites. She experiences many hardships in the third novel in which she must overcome. He sister Diana Holland is in a fight to get her lover back and the novel leaves the reader with her brave actions to do so at the end of the book. Penelope Hayes is in search of the same lover as Diana. However, she is much more scandalous and conniving then Diana is. Henry Schoonmaker is the most eligible bachelor in the novel. He is handsome and charming but does have some flaws. For example he has a slight drinking problem. Teddy Cutting is a fine and proper young man. He has been in love with one girl only for his whole life and has not given up on her. These characters all experience many events in their lives that lead up to something wonderful. However, in my opinion some characters might end up with exactly what they deserve. Envy is an amazing novel. I am truly excited to finish up the series with Splendor. I recommend that anybody who has a passion for romance and a little adventure to read this wonderful series by Anna Godberson.
